Hello! I have an intense fear of flying and would like to get my dog registered as an emotional support dog so he can fly with me. I am not sure what the procedure is and I live in the Netherlands. What I do know is that I need to receive a paper from a psychologist and I think also have a session to explain what I go through each time I fly. It really helps to have my dog with me but I cannot even keep the bag he is in on my lap during take-off and landing, which is when my fear is often greatest. Problems I have include but are not limited to: The urge to pee (I have gotten up despite not being allowed to and been sent back to my seat by the stewardess even though I told her the urge was unbearable), profuse sweating, difficulty breathing and increased heart rate. I hope someone here can help! Everything would be so much easier if I could just cuddle my dog throughout the ordeal. Thank you! Pipaluk

If you are a therapist , Please login here to respond.

I have written such letters for my clients in the past for US carriers with no problem.  If you would like me to provide you with a letter, I would need to meet with you for an evaluation.

Hello Ms.  I am so sorry you have to go through that.  My Gramma is so bad with flying as well.  I have no idea how the Netherlands works things.  You probably need to speak to your doctor and get a referral.  I will try to find out somethings here.  Then I will write you again.  I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you right now.  Thanks for your patience and understanding.  Tracie
