I am working a live-in nursing care job. Patient is 81, neurological condition, health is declining. I don't get out!!! (problem #1!!!) His family has gotten a local hospice involved. I am an intelligent, reasonably educated mature woman. But - I feel like a little kid again, and feel so hurt and insulted when some of these hospice people insult me. Yes. They actually do! I need someone to vent to, confide in so I don't lose my mind. I need help standing up to these a******s who breeze into this house for 5 minutes at a time and think they know everything about this case. And, don't follow their own protocols. And make remarks about me not knowing what I'm doing. And there you have it. [email masked]

Hello
Having been a caregiver three times, I know the frustration involved. I gave a talk to Parkinson's society on celebrating Caregivers. Usually  this role falls to women who don't take or can't take time for themselves. I have had many women tell me, " At church, they always ask how my husband is, but they never ask how I am doing. If you think I can help, just look up my profile.

All the best,
Jan

Hello

I also work in nursing homes and have had my struggles with other professionals. Keep in mind you and this family know he has the most information and who they depend on the most. But most importantly take care of yourself you have to get out and have some YOU time. I'd love to help

Hello friend,
Thank you for contacting the proventherapy team with your need for finding someone with whom you can share your distress arising from your work situation. Certainly your patient is a tough one to care for and that too without any break. Whenever the hospice people come to visit you get a lot of instructions what to do and what not to do which you do not appreciate. You find it difficult to accept what is going on as they do not even follow their own protocols. Certainly, you need to find somebody with whom you can share what is going on with you, find some relief, and to see anything else you need to do in order to protect yourself from this stress situation. If you want to work with me, please contact me. You can select the mode of therapy that you want to chose, including one week unlimited email package. With good wishes
